Preparations for the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Qingdao and the development of the Belarusian-Chinese relations were discussed at the meeting of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko with Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Cui Cimin, BelTA has learned.

Belarus' pharmaceutical industry has been presented at the international business forum Belarus-Tajikistan-Afghanistan. The information about it was posted on the website of the Healthcare Ministry with reference to Anatoly Grushkovsky who is in charge of the ministry's foreign contacts, BelTA has learnt.

A delegation of Belarus' Healthcare Ministry led by Healthcare Minister Valery Malashko is in Dushanbe as Alexander Lukashenko is on a visit to Tajikistan.

A session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will take place in Russia's Sochi on 14 May, BelTA has learnt.

This will be the first meeting of the EAEU heads of state this year. The session will be attended by the presidents of Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and the prime minister of Armenia. The president of Moldova was also invited to take part in the session as a guest.

Belarus' gold and foreign exchange reserves exceeded $7 billion as of 1 May 2018, BelTA learned from the Information and PR Department of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).

According to the preliminary data, Belarus' gold and foreign exchange reserves, if calculated in accordance with methods of the International Monetary Fund, totaled $7.

Favorable external conditions offer the prospect of additional revenues to the budget, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a government session held on 3 May to discuss Belarus' social and economic development, BelTA has learned.

The conditions are favorable today. Rising world prices (for oil note by BelTA) are good for us too because this means the prices for petroleum products that we manufacture in Belarus are rising too.

The goal for Belarus is to reduce its annual inflation to 3-4% by the end of the ongoing five-year period, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting in the Zhitkovichi District Executive Committee on 28 April, BelTA has learned.

According to the head of state, there are no grounds to price growth in Belarus. Prices should be kept under control, the president added.

43 mothers of Minsk, Minsk and Grodno regions were awarded the Order of Mother for the birth and education of five or more children. The corresponding decree was signed by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on April 26, BelTA was informed in press service Head of State.

Among the awarded representatives of various fields of activity, they work in institutions of preschool and secondary education, healthcare organizations, agricultural enterprises and industries, in the areas of trade and provision of communication services, and conduct housekeeping.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko answered the deputies' question whether it is possible to preserve the right for citizens to register for those who need to improve their housing conditions and after receiving rental housing, BelTA has learned.

The deputies said that at present, according to the law, citizens who have moved into rental housing are removed from the register of those who need to improve their housing conditions and, in fact, having stood in line for many years to build their own housing, this right is lost.

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko will deliver his annual State of the Nation Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly on 24 April, BelTA learned from the president's press service.

The event at the Oval Hall of the Seat of Government will bring together top-ranking officials, members of the government, heads of government bodies and agencies, major enterprises, representatives of the diplomatic corps and mass media.

All kinds of mass media should bear equal responsibility for the information they distribute. Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov made the statement as he met with the CIS Mass Media Heads Council in Minsk on 19 April, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian parliament passed the first reading to amendments to the Mass Media Law on 19 April. Andrei Kobyakov pointed out that the planned amendments are not designed to create some filters for Internet content.
